Job Overview

Marvin Composites is hiring an Automation & Controls Technician at our Fargo, ND facility. Are you looking for a hands-on role where your skills in automation and controls can make a real impact? As an Automation and Controls Technician, you’ll collaborate with various departments to maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize automated equipment, ensuring smooth and efficient plant operations. You’ll program PLCs, diagnose and repair equipment, and play a key role in upgrading technology. This is a role with plenty of growth opportunities, where you’ll work closely with cross-functional teams while advancing your expertise and career. Highlights of your role

  • Program and maintain automated equipment, including PLCs, to ensure efficient performance across production and facility systems.
  • Diagnose, repair, and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical components.
  • Perform machine wiring as needed and provide timely technical support for operations and maintenance.
  • Assess current equipment and recommend or implement technology upgrades to improve efficiency.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams while contributing individual expertise.
  • Ensure project goals are met by driving tasks to completion on time and within scope.

Schedule:

Monday - Friday, 8-hour shifts with flexibility to work days or nights

 

You will collaborate with both our day and night shift teams, which are operational from 6:30 AM - 6:45 PM and 6:30 PM - 6:45 AM.

You're a good fit if you have (or if you can)

  • Two-year technical degree preferred
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience may substitute for a degree
  • PLC programming experience or education preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively throughout various department levels
