Job Overview

Join our team in Fargo, ND at Marvin Composites as a Continuous Improvement Engineer where you’ll mentor and empower team members to identify areas for improvement, encourage idea submission, and lead/facilitate projects while meticulously documenting processes for future reference and optimization. Your primary focus will be on improving safety, quality, productivity, and profitability throughout the organization.

 

Additionally, you’ll play a pivotal role in developing, evaluating, documenting, and enhancing process flow and work methods. You’ll work collaboratively across various departments, driving Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives to streamline production processes, increase efficiency, and improve effectiveness. Your proactive approach and motivation to get results will ensure the timely execution of projects aimed at saving costs and enhancing overall operations.

Highlights of your role

  • Lead the charge in finding and implementing strategies to cut waste from production processes, making our operations leaner and more efficient
  • Collaborate with teams to explore cost-saving opportunities across the board, fueling innovation and driving progress
  • Be involved in our CI boards, where we crowd-source improvement ideas and bring them to life, making a real impact on our operations
  • Work to evaluate processes, sharing best practices, and keep our operations running smoothly
  • Create clear and user-friendly documentation, ensuring everyone understands and can follow our procedures effectively
  • Spread the word about lean principles, helping everyone in the organization become champions of efficiency

You're a good fit if you have (or if you can)

  • Professional work experience in a manufacturing environment, depending on your level of experience, to contribute valuable insights and expertise
  • Demonstrate strong computer skills, especially in MS Office, crucial for analyzing data and creating documentation
  • Showcase your ability to interpret prints, a crucial skill for understanding and optimizing production processes, regardless of your experience level
  • Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to use structured problem-solving techniques

Also want to make sure you have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required; Industrial Engineering strongly preferred
