Machine Operator- Night Shift

Marvin Composites in Salem, VA designs and manufactures fiberglass-reinforced plastics through an innovative process called pultrusion. Pultruded materials are an ideal replacement for traditional building materials in many applications - we are proud to be the world leader in pultrusion!

Associates are selected for positions based on interest, skills, and previous experience.

Pultrusion Operators - Operators are responsible for running a production line. They ensure a continuous supply of raw materials, machine set up and operation, and troubleshooting. This position requires associates to manage and prioritize multiple tasks that ensure the continuous operation of the production line. Candidates must have a good memory and problem-solving skills. Once trained, this position provides training and mentoring to new associates. Basic math and computer skills are required.

Requirements: 

• Outstanding attendance
• An ability to think and learn on the job, effective communication skills, and basic computer skills
• Ability to stand, walk, and reach for 12-hour shifts
• Ability to successfully pass a basic math skills assessment, Lift, carry, push, and pull a variety of objects weighing 10lbs to 50lbs 
• General experience with computers

Preferred Experience: 

• Experience operating and running manufacturing equipment (PLC Controlled) 
  • Or a willingness & ability to learn  

Schedule:

Night Shift: 6:30 PM - 6:45 AM
Work 7 out of 14 days every two weeks. Every other weekend is a 3 day weekend off!!
The normal work schedule includes working 36 hours one week (Sun/Wed/Thu) and 48 hours the next (Mon/Tue/Fri/Sat).

Pay:

Earn an effective hourly wage of $25.79-$28.41 /hr. DOE
Pay for Experience if applicable!
Base: $20.80 - $23.30/hr DOE 

Night Differential: $2.00/hr (MON-SUN) 
Weekend Premium: $4.00/hr (FRI-SUN)
